Baseball Recap: Xaverian Takes a Loss

After soaring to 16 runs the game before, Xaverian was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 8-1 to the Archbishop Molloy Stanners. The match marked the Clippers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Xaverian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Danny Cronin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Xaverian dropped their record down to 4-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 2.75 runs. As for Archbishop Molloy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Xaverian will face off against St. John's Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Archbishop Molloy, they will take on St. Anthony's at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
