Basketball Game Preview: ALA - Ironwood Warriors vs. Yuma Catholic Shamrocks

The ALA - Ironwood Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Yuma Catholic Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

ALA - Ironwood can't be too worried about heading out to take on Yuma Catholic: they just beat Benjamin Franklin at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. ALA - Ironwood snuck past Benjamin Franklin with a 67-61 win on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Yuma Catholic came tearing into Wednesday's contest with 17 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Sand Devils with a sharp 66-46 victory. The Shamrocks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Yuma Catholic's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for ALA - Ironwood, their victory bumped their record up to 17-9.

ALA - Ironwood couldn't quite finish off Yuma Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 and fell 54-51. Can ALA - Ironwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
