Baseball Recap: Elsinore Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Elsinore waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Temescal Canyon Titans by a score of 8-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 on Tuesday.

Jacob Farias spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bryson Boyd, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Tyler Horton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Elsinore's record is now 9-3. As for Temescal Canyon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.

Elsinore and Temescal Canyon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Tigers will square off against Cornerstone Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (140 vs. 817). Meanwhile, Temescal Canyon (ranked 168th) will meet Notre Dame (ranked 818th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
