Volleyball Recap: Fall River Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Fall River waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Markesan Hornets by a score of 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as three sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 26-24, 30-28, 27-25.

Emma Sampson paced Fall River's offense, picking up 23 kills. Sampson got some help from Addison McDonald and her 30 assists.

Despite the loss, Markesan still got an impressive performance from Lettie Heiling, who had 12 digs and two aces. Heiling has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Fall River's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Markesan, their loss dropped their record down to 9-20.

Fall River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Abundant Life on the 11th. As for Markesan, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Central Wisconsin Christian on the 9th.
