Football Game Preview: Towanda Black Knights vs. Wyalusing Valley Rams

The Towanda Black Knights will head out to square off against the Wyalusing Valley Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Towanda has given up an average of 31.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Towanda is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Tunkhannock on Friday. The Black Knights fell 34-27 to the Tigers.

Despite the defeat, Towanda got top-tier performance from Jazik Brown, who rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Towanda's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tommy Bowen, Cameron Allis, and Gabe Wolf, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Wyalusing Valley lost 28-6 to Hughesville on Friday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Towanda's record now sits at 2-7. As for Wyalusing Valley, their record is now an identical 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Towanda against Wyalusing Valley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Black Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
