Basketball Game Preview: Lee County Yellow Jackets vs. Richmond Raiders

Lee County is 0-7 against Richmond since February of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Lee County Yellow Jackets will challenge the Richmond Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lee County comes in on three and Richmond on 11.

Lee County will bounce into Friday's game after beating Union Pines, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lee County pulled ahead with a 54-53 photo finish over Union Pines on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Richmond made easy work of Union Pines on Tuesday and carried off an 86-65 victory.

Lee County better keep an eye on Jay Hamilton. He was instrumental in Richmond's win, going 10 of 15 en route to 24 points. Amer Morrison was another key player, going 6 for 8 on his way to 14 points.

Richmond pushed their record up to 12-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Lee County, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Things could have been worse for Lee County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-60 loss to Richmond in their previous matchup last Monday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hamilton, who went 12 of 17 en route to 28 points.
