Basketball Recap: Minor Tigers vs. John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers
Minor gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 77-70 victory over the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cavaliers, too.
Carmelo Burroughs was a one-man wrecking crew for Minor as he earned 22 points plus four blocks and three steals. Another player making a difference was Derrek Yelling, who scored ten points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minor will venture away from home to square off against McAdory at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for John Carroll Catholic, they will challenge Cornerstone at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
