Basketball Recap: Harding Comes Up Short

Harding was the 67-39 winner over Austintown-Fitch when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Harding Raiders fell just short of the Austintown-Fitch Falcons by a score of 64-61 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Raiders have suffered against the Falcons since February 17, 2022.

Austintown-Fitch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marcel Finkley, who went 8-for-17 en route to 26 points and six boards. The match was Finkley's sixth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Carter Owens, who posted 17 points and five rebounds.

Harding's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 17-4. As for Austintown-Fitch, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Harding has already played their next contest (against Walnut Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Austintown-Fitch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
