Softball Recap: Skyline Thunderbirds vs. Inman Teutons

Skyline extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-6. They lost 17-0 to the Inman Teutons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Teutons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Thursday.

As for Inman, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average this season.

For Inman's part, Alexis Noone looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Taylor Froese and Ellie Thimmesch did most of the damage at the plate: Froese went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI, while Thimmesch went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Froese continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Marlee Ballard also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Skyline will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cimarron at 4:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Inman, they are taking a road trip to take on Moundridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Teutons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
