Hopkinton waltzed into their game on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They put the hurt on the Medfield Warriors with a sharp 12-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 back in April.

Kate Riesenberger tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Callie Arthur was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Holly Paharik was another key player, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2.

Hopkinton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Medfield only posted an OBP of .423.

Hopkinton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Medfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Hopkinton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-6 win against Dedham on the 19th. As for Medfield, they have also already played their next game, a 6-4 victory against Millis on the 19th.
