Baseball Recap: Arcadia Comes Up Short

Arcadia extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-14. They fell 5-0 to the Mesquite Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 12-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Arcadia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Oleshansky, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

As for Mesquite, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-15-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games.

On Mesquite's side, not much got past Jacob Martinez, who gave up just four hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Arcadia off the board. Martinez has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Matthew Rooney was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Andres Lozano, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

While Arcadia had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
