Preview: Ponderosa Bruins vs. Nevada Union Miners
Ponderosa is 9-1 against Nevada Union since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Ponderosa Bruins will get right back to it and host the Nevada Union Miners at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, everything went Ponderosa's way against Lincoln as Ponderosa made off with a 88-64 victory. With Ponderosa ahead 53-30 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Ponderosa had a senior duo take command as Marco Moorman scored 20 points along with seven steals and six assists and Keenan Patterson scored 25 points along with three steals. Moorman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Travis Bays was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Nevada Union strolled past Oakmont with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 65-49.
The victory got Ponderosa back to even at 13-13. As for Nevada Union, their victory bumped their record up to 15-12.
Ponderosa didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Nevada Union in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 71-67 victory. Will Ponderosa repeat their success, or does Nevada Union have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
