Basketball Recap: Mosinee's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Mosinee was the 60-59 winner over Brillion when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mosinee Indians fell 56-46 to the Brillion Lions on Thursday. The match marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Mosinee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brayden Reinke dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Reinke is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Treve Stoffel, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Mosinee smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

With the defeat, Mosinee broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2. As for Brillion, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Mosinee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-49 loss against Northland Pines on the 7th. As for Brillion, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-27 win against Two Rivers on the 7th.
