Volleyball Recap: Yorktown Extends Winning Streak to Four

Yorktown had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They blew past the Shelbyville Golden Bears 3-0. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Bears, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Yorktown was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-12, 25-10.

Yorktown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lyndsey Robinson out in front who had six digs and two aces.

Robinson wasn't the only good server: Yorktown was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Yorktown's record is now 4-1. As for Shelbyville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yorktown will venture away from home to square off against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelbyville, they will head out to take on Connersville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
