Baseball Recap: Northpoint Christian Academy Picks Up 12th Straight Win at Home

NorthPoint Christian Academy's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Ambassador Christian School Lions as NorthPoint Christian Academy made off with a 7-1 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the NightHawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tyler Wagner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Powell Maslin, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

NorthPoint Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ambassador Christian School struck out 13 times.

NorthPoint Christian Academy's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Ambassador Christian School, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. NorthPoint Christian Academy will take on Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ambassador Christian School, they will face off against Northwood Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
