Recap: Bishop LeBlond Eagles vs. Chillicothe Hornets
The Bishop LeBlond Eagles fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Chillicothe Hornets on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 55-47 to the Hornets. Bishop LeBlond lost against Chillicothe in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 58-50 score last time.
Leading Chillicothe to victory were James Mathew and Sol'jier Allen. Mathew dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds, while Allen scored 19 points. The contest was Allen's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaishon White, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Bishop LeBlond's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Chillicothe, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop LeBlond's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. Chillicothe will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Penney at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
