Baseball Recap: Bloomsburg Takes a Loss

Bloomsburg extended their losing streak to 16 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-16 in the process. They lost 11-0 to the Warrior Run Defenders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Defenders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in April.

As for Warrior Run, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Warrior Run's part, James Keifer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Keifer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cohen Zechman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Stone Allison was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomsburg will face off against Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Warrior Run, they will square off against Mifflinburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
