Basketball Game Preview: Donovan/St. Anne vs. Grace Christian Academy Crusaders

Donovan/St. Anne and Grace Christian Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. Donovan/St. Anne will be home for the holidays to greet Grace Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Donovan/St. Anne is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Kankakee Trinity Academy 47-14 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for Donovan/St. Anne in their matchups with Kankakee Trinity Academy: they've now won four in a row.

Brisa Ortiz had an outrageously good game as she went 7-for-11 en route to 15 points. What's more, she also posted a 64% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lillian Courville, who shot 42% from the field on her way to 10 points and five assists.

Donovan/St. Anne was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grace Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 46-33 victory over Momence on Friday.

Grace Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Zoey Baldridge, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points along with eight boards and six steals. Baldridge has become a key player for the Crusaders: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Jorgensen, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Grace Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Donovan/St. Anne, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-7.

Donovan/St. Anne beat Grace Christian Academy 59-46 in their previous matchup back in February. Does Donovan/St. Anne have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grace Christian Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
