Basketball Game Preview: North Creek Jaguars vs. Newport - Bellevue Knights

The North Creek Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the Newport - Bellevue Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Creek will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Saturday, North Creek beat Bishop Blanchet 54-41. The win was all the more spectacular given the Jaguars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Bears are ranked 34th).

Seirat Bhullar continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 20 points and four steals. What's more, she also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Grace Pinder was another key player, posting ten points along with six boards and three steals.

North Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Newport - Bellevue opened the new year with a less-than-successful 41-28 loss to Eastmont.

North Creek pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Newport - Bellevue, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

North Creek came up short against Newport - Bellevue when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 67-63. Can North Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
