            Softball Recap: Deer Valley Skyhawks vs. Sunrise Mountain Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            Deer Valley got themselves on the board against Sunrise Mountain on Saturday, but Sunrise Mountain never followed suit. They were the clear victor by  a  7-0 margin over the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won three matchups by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
 Adyson Ordway made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't  given up  a single  earned run any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Priscilla Lopez, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4. What's more,  she posted two  doubles, the most she's  had since back in April of 2024.  Samantha Romero was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Deer Valley  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunrise Mountain only posted  an  OBP of  .154.

Deer Valley pushed their record up to 5-0-1 with the  win, which was their tenth straight  at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.6 runs. As for Sunrise Mountain, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 4-1.
 Deer Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  12-1  loss against Mountain Ridge on the 1st. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will face off against Desert Mountain at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday. Desert Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6  runs per game  this season.
