Softball Recap: North Gaston Wildcats vs. Forestview Jaguars

North Gaston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forestview Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 back in March.

Skylar Smith was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Maddie Carpenter, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

North Gaston's record is now 7-13. As for Forestview, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Coming up, North Gaston will look to defend their home field on Friday against Kings Mountain at 5:00 p.m. The Mountaineers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Forestview, they will square off against Highland Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
