Volleyball Recap: Hazen Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hazen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Juanita Ravens. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While Hazen ultimately came up short, they really made Juanita work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 22-25, 25-11, 24-26, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Hazen still got an impressive performance from Karamelu Ioane, who had 22 digs and four aces. Ioane is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. Olivia Loughnane also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Hazen's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Juanita, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Hazen didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Cedarcrest on the 14th. As for Juanita, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Woodinville on the 14th.
