Meanwhile, Cibola didn't have quite enough to beat Maryvale last Thursday and fell 3-2. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 25-15 in the first set.
Cibola took Maryvale into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-15, 21-25, 25-22, 15-9.
San Luis' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Cibola, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
