Coronado lost a close one when they played last Thursday but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by the Pebble Hills Spartans on the road and fell 56-16. The defeat continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost five in a row.

Although Coronado took the loss, they still got scores from Norman Montion and Cody Hunt.

It was another big night for Zereian Quarles, who rushed for 274 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry for Pebble Hills. The dominant performance gave Quarles a new career-high in rushing yards.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Pebble Hills, their record now sits at 2-3.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Montwood the next time they take the field. Pebble Hills will head out to face Montwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Coronado will host them at 7:30 p.m. on October 17th.
