Baseball Recap: Frisco Has No Trouble Against Heritage

Frisco barely beat Heritage the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raccoons were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Coyotes on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Raccoons in their matchups with the Coyotes: they've now won five in a row.

Caleb Carter made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Frisco let Jackson Voris and Jorge Villareal run wild. Voris scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Villareal scored a run while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Villareal a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayson Bustamante, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Frisco was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Frisco's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Heritage, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-17-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frisco will square off against Independence at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they will face off against Rock Hill at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Blue Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Coyotes surely won't give up without a fight.
