North Mesquite was handed a 13-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out South Garland 14-12.
North Mesquite got a big performance out of Destiny Arias, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Arias has posted since back in March of 2025. Evelyn Delgado also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
North Mesquite always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Terrell made sure to put some runs up on the board against Berkner on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Rams.
Preslie Pritchett was incredible, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one double. Tinslee Savell was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
North Mesquite's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. As for Terrell, their record now sits at 4-6.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Mesquite has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .534. However, it's not like Terrell struggles in that department as they've averaged .489. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Mesquite might still be hurting after the 16-4 loss they got from Terrell when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Stallions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
