Basketball Game Preview: Brush Arcs vs. Laurel Gators

The Brush Arcs are taking a road trip to challenge the Laurel Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Brush is coming into the game hot, having won their last 13 games.

On Saturday, Brush got the win against Kennedy Catholic by a conclusive 68-44. The Arcs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Laurel posted their biggest win since December 3, 2024 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 65-40 margin over Lutheran East. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Gators 's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Falcons are ranked 31st).

Brush's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Laurel, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.

Brush came up short against Laurel in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 68-59. Can Brush avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
