Baseball Recap: Wendell Takes a Loss

Wendell managed to slip by Challis the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Trojans lost 14-6 to the Vikings on Thursday. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Vikings since on Thursday.

Deegan Prince made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Santos Suarez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Wendell has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season. As for Challis, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season.

Wendell will square off against Declo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Challis, they will be taking part in a tournament against Soda Springs at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
