Caden Bailey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hilmar over Sonora

Caden Bailey continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his 12th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 100 rushing yards. He rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.

Sonora had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Bailey it was a similar story. When Bailey last faced the Wildcats back in September of 2023, he rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.

Sonora Wins Sixth-Straight Thanks to Brody Speer

Brody Speer's big game helped extend Sonora's winning streak to six on Friday. Hilmar had no answer to Speer as he picked up 40 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 37 yards.

Sonora pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Speer and Sonora are taking a road trip to take on Hughson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Byington Came Up Big in Sonora's 45-28 Victory

Cash Byington was instrumental in extending Sonora's winning streak to six on Friday. Nobody could stop Byington as he rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Those 112 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

For the season, Byington has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 66 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had two rushing touchdowns.
