Paola scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 70-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burlington Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Wildcats are ranked 23rd).

Paola has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-1 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Burlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
