Basketball Recap: Desmon Cunningham and Jalen Brown Secure Win for Troup County

Troup County hadn't done well against LaGrange recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Troup County Tigers took down the LaGrange Grangers 60-45. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 51-47 victory the Grangers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Troup County was led to victory by Jalen Brown and Desmon Cunningham. Brown went 10 of 19 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds, while Cunningham almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of DE'JAYLEN CAMPBELL, who posted seven points and four steals.

Troup County's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for LaGrange, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.

Troup County will venture away from home to square off against Mary Persons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Troup County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for LaGrange, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sandy Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandy Creek will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something LaGrange surely won't give up without a fight.
