Basketball Game Preview: Novato Hornets vs. Terra Linda Trojans

Novato and Terra Linda are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Novato Hornets will welcome the Terra Linda Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Novato is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against San Marin on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Novato took a blow against San Marin, falling 81-53. The Hornets have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Terra Linda posted their closest win since December 9, 2023 last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Stuart Hall 47-44. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Knights are ranked 436th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Terra Linda and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for Novato, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Novato skirted past Terra Linda 59-56 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Does Novato have another victory up their sleeve, or will Terra Linda turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
