Baseball Recap: Mcpherson Makes It Three in a Row at Home

McPherson won against Valley Center last Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. McPherson beat the Augusta Orioles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The win continues a trend for the Bullpups in their matchups with the Orioles: they've now won nine in a row.

Logan Beede tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Ian Razak and Brody Seidl did most of the damage at the plate: Razak scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Seidl scored a run and stole three bases. That's the most stolen bases Seidl has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Carter Bengtson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

McPherson pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.0 runs this season. As for Augusta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McPherson beat Augusta by a score of 15-0 later that day.
