Volleyball Preview: Canyon Eagles vs. Dumas Demons
The Canyon Eagles will challenge the Dumas Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Canyon is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Randall just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 3-1 to the Raiders.
Canyon was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Randall work for it, especially in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17, 16-25, 28-26.
Despite their loss, Canyon saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. London Gibson, who had seven digs and 11 assists, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, Dumas made easy work of Borger on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-21.
Canyon's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-12. As for Dumas, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-19 record this season.
