While Hylton put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Massaponax. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Alanis Layne was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Alexandra Newton was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Jayel Williams was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Hylton's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Massaponax, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hylton will square off against Woodbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season. As for Massaponax, they will challenge North Stafford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
