Volleyball Recap: Pleasant Hope Takes a Loss

If Pleasant Hope was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Everton last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates fell 3-1 to the Cassville Wildcats on Monday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Pleasant Hope was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Cassville work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-14, 20-25, 28-26.

Lily Lambeth paced Pleasant Hope's offense, picking up 15 kills. Lambeth got some help from Abigail Fitzlaff and her 25 assists. Brooklynn Keck controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Pleasant Hope has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-3-2 record this season. As for Cassville, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Pleasant Hope didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Ash Grove on the 9th. Cassville has also already played their next contest (against Clever), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
