Basketball Recap: Jefferson Raiders vs. Decatur Golden Gators

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Decatur Golden Gators, falling 85-55. The match was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Raiders struggled afterwards.

Khamari Johnson and Ikaika Frank certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Johnson posted 20 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Frank had 13 points. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Jorge Martinez was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 12 on his way to 20 points along with seven assists and six steals for Decatur. The team also got some help courtesy of Dar Mcjimpson Jr, who put up 18 points.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Decatur, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 113-37 defeat against Foster on the 10th. As for Decatur, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-66 win against Evergreen on the 10th.
