Basketball Recap: Frontier STEM Comes Up Short

Frontier STEM was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 34-19 bruising from the Guadalupe Centers Aztecs. Frontier STEM was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Guadalupe Centers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Guadalupe Centers got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Luis Popoca out in front who posted nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Popoca is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Gonzalez, who earned eight points in addition to 15 boards and four blocks.

Frontier STEM's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Guadalupe Centers, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Frontier STEM didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-29 loss against The Daniel Academy on the 27th. As for Guadalupe Centers, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 55-10 defeat against Midland Adventist Academy on the 27th.
