Baseball Game Preview: Clifton Central Comets vs. Grant Park Dragons

Clifton Central has gone 7-1 against Grant Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Comets will host the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Clifton Central is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Beecher just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Grant Park's offense. They came up short against Dwight on Monday, falling 14-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

Clifton Central now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Grant Park, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.

Everything went Clifton Central's way against Grant Park in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Clifton Central made off with a 13-1 win. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
