After a string of three wins, Weequahic's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Arts Jaguars and fell 73-38. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

James Porter and Shaun Hamilton certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Porter posted ten points, while Hamilton earned six points and ten rebounds. Porter has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Tasir Barnes, who had three points.

Even though they lost, Weequahic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Weequahic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Arts, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Weequahic will head out to take on Bard at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arts, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Paramus Catholic at 9:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
