Baseball Recap: Valliant Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Valliant Bulldogs came up short against the Sallisaw Black Diamonds and fell 5-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valliant saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landyn Howard, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Howard's first of the season.

Valliant's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Sallisaw, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Valliant will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Latta at 1:30 p.m. As for Sallisaw, they will head out to square off against Hartshorne at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Hartshorne: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Sallisaw has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
