Softball Recap: Hamilton Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hamilton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers a 2-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2017.

Not much got past Liliana Russo, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Tucson High Magnet School off the board. That's the fewest hits Russo has allowed over her last seven contests.

On the hitting side, Hamilton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazmin Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Hamilton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs across that stretch. As for Tucson High Magnet School, the defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 10-7.

Coming up, Hamilton will welcome Pinnacle at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they will venture away from home to square off against Nogales at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
