Baseball Game Preview: Fossil Ridge SaberCats vs. Regis Jesuit Raiders

The Fossil Ridge SaberCats are taking a road trip to challenge the Regis Jesuit Raiders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fossil Ridge will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Fossil Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Fort Collins 16-6 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the SaberCats have won by exactly ten runs.

Ryne VanMaanen looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Mason Griffin was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with one home run, two triples, and five RBI. That's the most triples he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Morgan, who fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit didn't have quite enough to beat Cherry Creek on Thursday and fell 2-1. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Bruins recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Regis Jesuit saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Massey, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Fossil Ridge's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Regis Jesuit, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
