Recap: Edison Eagles vs. Sapulpa Chieftains

The Edison Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 73-24 defeat at the hands of Sapulpa. Edison has not had much luck with Sapulpa recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Tyla Heard was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with seven steals for Sapulpa. Heard has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Bilby, who scored 14 points.

Edison has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for Sapulpa, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.

Edison will be playing at home against Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edison is coming into the game with ten straight losses at home, meaning Memorial will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Sapulpa, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-32 victory vs. McAlester on the 10th.
