League recap: Watkins breaks off league-leading run for Martha's Vineyard Regional

Martha's Vineyard Regional's Brandon Watkins rumbled for the longest rushing play in Eastern this season in his game against Somerset last week. Watkins' team fell to the Raiders as he sprinted for 78 yards on the play and finished with 83 in all.

Somerset extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Martha's Vineyard Regional, 48-8. The win marks seventh in a row for the Nick Freitas' team.

Donald Herman's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alec Tattersall threw for 21 yards and Jahmari Thomas had 18 yards receiving. Joe Turney helped Martha's Vineyard Regional's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.

Martha's Vineyard Regional's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vineyarders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tattersall has thrown for 585 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Watkins has 12 catches for 201 yards. Watkins leads the league in rushing with 680 yards.

Two of the top units in Eastern will face off this week when the Vineyarders take on Bishop Feehan. Martha's Vineyard Regional's offense has racked up 149 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Shamrocks have allowed only 40 on the year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Vineyarders take on Bishop Feehan. Martha's Vineyard Regional is in third place, while Curt Smith's team is in second place.

The Raiders took down the Vineyarders 48-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
