Baseball Recap: Hartshorne Comes Up Short

Hartshorne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Kiowa Cowboys, falling 13-7.

Deegan Burke was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Gus Miller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Hartshorne's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Kiowa, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hartshorne will face off against Latta at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kiowa, they will square off against Stuart at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Cowboys' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
