Basketball Recap: Fort Lupton Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Fort Lupton extended their winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Javon Gonzales. The Fort Lupton Bluedevils simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat The Pinnacle Timberwolves 74-33 thanks in part to Gonzales, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Guillaume Nkiadiambu, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (six).

The Pinnacle lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Angel Lazo, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points. Caleb Arellano was another key player, putting up nine points.

Fort Lupton's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for The Pinnacle, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.

The future could be bright for both Fort Lupton and The Pinnacle: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Fort Lupton will try to hand Alameda their sixth-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, The Pinnacle will look to extend Jefferson's 13-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
