Soccer Game Preview: Porterville vs. Dos Palos

The Porterville Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against the Dos Palos Broncos at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Porterville is headed into the contest having not lost since the 4th and will look to keep things rolling. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Tulare Union on Thursday. Given Porterville's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 68th, while Tulare Union are ranked 222nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dos Palos). They came out on top against Fowler by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Jesus Bon and Arturo Mendoza scored all three of Dos Palos' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Porterville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-1-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those six matchups. As for Dos Palos, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4-4.
