Basketball Recap: Yates Center Takes a Loss

Yates Center played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Crest Lancers, falling 59-29. The Wildcats have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Yates Center saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cayten Cummings dropped a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 86.2% of Yates Center's points, marking the seventh time in a row Cummings has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Yates Center's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Crest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Yates Center nor Crest have any future games scheduled.
