League recap: Hooker powers Northland Christian with hot hitting week

TAPPS 4A District 4 league recap: 3/27/13

Allan Hooker had the hottest bat in TAPPS 4A District 4 this week, racking up a .318 average, one home run and 12 RBIs. Northland Christian compiled a record of 4-1 in that time.

Hunter Ranly was the top pitcher in the league this week, leading Fort Bend Christian Academy. He struck out 11 batters this week.

The Eagles' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 21 hits and 16 walks, both of which led the league.

The Cougars stole 26 bases this week, adding to their league-leading 76 steals on the year.

The league boasted five .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Bradley Pounds, who hit .800 this week (12-for-15).



Hooker drove in 12 runs for Northland Christian over the past seven days. He has 37 RBIs this season, tops in the league.

Bradley Pounds went 5-for-6 as the Cougars defeated Fort Bend Christian Academy 22-12 on Tuesday. He rounded out his day with four runs batted in and zero runs scored.
